HARRISBURG – When the Pennsylvania Game Commission board of game commissioners gave preliminary approval to hunting and trapping seasons and bag limits for 2012-13 at January's first quarterly meeting of the year, the recent trend of finding ways to increase hunting opportunities for both adult and youth hunters continued.
The federal government's new plan for oil shale development on public lands would keep activity off thousands of acres of environmentally sensitive areas, with new leases initially being issued strictly for research on how to commercially produce oil from oil shale in Utah, Wyoming and Colorado.
