iSportsman Promotes Interns to Full-Time Positions

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – iSportsman, the leading outdoor recreational management software solution for large and small properties and natural resource programs, is excited to announce that interns Nick Zahniser and Victoria Tillinghast have both been hired for full-time positions. The hiring comes at a key time in the company’s growth as it recently launched a new product, iSportsman ARX, to manage a variety of activities on privately owned lands and is rebranding its primary iSportsman product for government entities as iSportsman GX.

Zahniser will serve as iSportsman’s Marketing Coordinator, overseeing the company’s social media efforts and coordinating a breadth of marketing initiatives and projects to promote the brand’s product lines. Zahniser graduated from Old Dominion University (ODU) in the spring of 2021, as a marketing major and founding member of the ODU chapter of Pi Sigma Epsilon, a professional marketing fraternity. As an intern, he supported iSportsman’s social media efforts, developed content for the company’s website and contributed to the creation of a variety of marketing materials.

Tillinghast has been hired as Technical Writer for ASciS, iSportsman’s sister company and developer of the software used to support iSportsman GX. In that role, Tillinghast will support iSportsman’s and ASciS’s  business capture efforts through proposal development, create user guides and client materials, serve as managing editor of iSportsman’s newsletter and provide content for their website. She recently graduated from ODU with a B.A. in English and a concentration in journalism.

“As a first-generation student, I found the internship opportunity provided by iSportsman critical to my professional development,” says Tillinghast, “I’m excited for the opportunity to now put the skills I  learned as an intern to more use as a full-time employee with iSportsman and ASciS.”

Both companies have worked with local universities such as ODU, Hampton University, Christopher Newport University, William & Mary and the University of Virginia to attract and develop young talent (most often from the technology and coding disciplines) and where able, promote them to full-time associates. The hiring of Zahniser and Tillinghast is an extension of these efforts.

“By working with the highly respected university system in Virginia, we’ve been able to provide solid, on-the-job experience to local talent and wherever possible, eventually bring them on full-time to support our efforts. It’s a real win-win for the students, the universities and for our companies,” says Aneil Kumar, CEO of iSportsman and ASciS.
