Safari Club International Announces Title Sponsorship with Lone Star Outdoors Show with Cable Smith

Washington, DC (September 28, 2020) – Safari Club International (SCI) is excited to announce a partnership with Lone Star Outdoors Show with Cable Smith to promote the advocacy and conservation efforts of the organization as it leads the way in defending the freedom to hunt and promoting wildlife conservation worldwide.

A native of Dallas, Texas, Cable Smith grew up in the outdoors, where he cultivated a passion for hunting, fishing and camping. He started out working at Sports Radio 1310, then moved to another radio station where Cable’s personality in Texarkana grew. In 2009 he moved back to Dallas/Fort Worth with his wife, Erin, and three children, when he started the Lone Star Outdoors Show.

A graduate of Baylor University, Cable has hunted and fished worldwide and across the U.S. and loves interviewing famous outdoor personalities, anglers, Texas Parks and Wildlife representatives, politicians and Texas country music artists as a part of the show. With nearly 150,000 Instagram followers in addition to thousands of radio and podcast listeners, his discussions of our hunting heritage and its role in conservation is striking a chord.

“Cable Smith is a unique voice among the landscape of hunting proponents and he is a solid believer in SCI as the leading advocate in the space,” said Chip Hunnicutt, Director of Marketing and Communications for SCI. “We are proud to partner with Cable to deliver the message of SCI through Lone Star Outdoors, directly to his audience of proud Texas hunters.”

Safari Club International (SCI) is a not-for-profit organization of hunters whose primary missions are to protect the freedom to hunt and to promote wildlife conservation. SCI’s 50,000 members and 180 chapters in the US and around the world are passionate about hunting and about wildlife conservation. Hunters take pride in carrying on the ancient traditions and practices of the hunt. Hunting is part of human nature and it is what enabled humans to feed ourselves, defend ourselves from danger, form societies and develop art such as the cave paintings tens of thousands of years old that depict hunting because it was essential to the survival and growth of humankind.
